Southeast Florida for most of his life before moving with his wife to Raleigh, NC
in 2020. He is a Class “A” PGA Professional with over 30 years of experience in
the golf business. Rick worked at Martin County Golf & Country Club, one of the
busiest 36-hole public courses in the U.S. During his 22 years at the course, he
started as an assistant professional and was then promoted to head professional.
This is where he began his affiliation and support for the First Tee over 10 years
ago. Rick is a First Tee Recognized Golf Coach and a coach for the PGA
H.O.P.E. (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) program. Through this program, he
coaches the men and women who have served in our nation’s armed forces. He
has served as a Special Olympics Golf Coach and an Els for Autism golf coach.
His experience also includes work with the Y.M.C.A., Boy Scouts of America, the
Boys and Girls Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and A.R.C.
Rick’s wealth of experience working with adults and children makes him an
adaptable and patient teacher. He enjoys working with adults and children of all
ages and skill levels. Learning something new or taking a golf lesson can be
stressful but do not worry! Your golf lesson will be safe and easy to follow. Most
importantly, you will have fun while improving your golf skills.
Rick likes to say, “Your swing is your fingerprint! We are all different. It doesn’t
matter what your swing looks like, what matters is what it is producing. Your
swing is not broken and nothing needs to be fixed. The question is, what skills
need to be developed so you can play more shots on the course and enjoy your
round?”
